Deep SenGupta
CEO
Our team is led by our founder and chief executive officer, Deep SenGupta. Prior to founding DSG Global in 2014, Deep was at FedEx from 2002-2014 where he was the Principal of FedEx’s regulatory consulting group providing international trade regulatory consulting to numerous entities. Deep was also responsible for providing international trade services to governments on a global basis.
Prior to joining FedEx, Deep was with KPMG’s Asia Pacific Tax practice from 1997 where he helped establish KPMG’s International Trade & Customs practice in India and advised several Fortune 500 clients on market-access issues for their South-Asian operations.
Deep learnt the meaning of “globalization” early, since he spent his childhood in United Kingdom, Canada and India. Deep obtained his initial legal education in India (BA and LLB), arrived in the USA for his Masters in Law-Taxation (LL.M) from the University of Washington and received executive education on International Trade from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Deep has been privileged to assist both the US Government agencies involved in imports as well as exports, as a subject matter expert.
- Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS): From 2011-2017, Deep was appointed to the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export administration (PECSEA) to provide private sector feedback to the Obama administration on export control reform.
- Customs and Border Protection (CBP): Deep was a member of CBP’s COAC working group on enhancements to the focused assessment program (2013-2014).
- District Export Council of Northern California (NorCal DEC): Since 2006, Deep was appointed by 4 successive U.S Secretaries of Commerce to serve on the NorCal DEC. He served as the Chair of the NorCal DEC from 2016-2018.
Deep is a sought-after speaker on international trade issues and addresses customers and trade associations around the country.
As a core-value, Deep believes in giving back to the community and is involved on a pro bono basis with a range of professional organizations and charitable organizations.

Anoshua Chaudhuri
Chief Economist
Anoshua Chaudhuri holds a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Washington, Seattle. She is a Professor and the current Head of the Department of Economics in the College of Business at San Francisco State University. Dr. Chaudhuri’s research over the past 15 years has been at the intersection of health, development and family economics with a focus on evaluating impacts of policies and programs on community and household health outcomes. She has published her research in numerous peer-reviewed journals such as Economic Development and Cultural Change, Social Science and Medicine, Health Policy, Journal of Family and Economic Issues, Children and Youth Services Review and Journal of Cross-cultural Gerontology. She has also written economic impact reports for several local government and non-government agencies. She has received several competitive research awards, has research collaborations with colleagues domestically and internationally, in economics and inter-related disciplines and holds leadership positions in economics associations and conference steering committees. Dr. Chaudhuri serves as a Board member of SF State’s University Corporation and also volunteers as a Board member of a non-profit mental health agency, Richmond Area Multi-services or RAMs.

Michael Slonim
Senior Advisor - Export Controls (ITAR & EAR)
Michael has more than 30 years’ experience, most recently having served as a Director, International Trade Licensing at Honeywell. He has extensive experience with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) as well as the regulatory environment of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Department of Energy (DoE), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Michael was the final quality reviewer for export applications and liaison to USG regulators. He conducted training, wrote and implemented export procedures, and was company lead for monitoring exports through the U.S. Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). Michael has also played valuable roles in identifying and successfully mitigating export compliance matters.
As the Director of Export Sales in a previous life in the music industry, Michael understands the pressures that businesses face achieving their goals and can diplomatically and effectively convey to company officials how a solid export compliance program both fosters export sales and helps avoid costly delays, shutdowns, fines, and penalties.
During the Obama administration, Michael was appointed to the President’s Export Council, Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA) by U.S. Secretaries of Commerce Gary Locke and Penny Pritzker. In that capacity, he provided industry expertise on Export Control Reform and other key export topics.
He received his MBA from George Washington University as a Hyundai Scholar and his BA from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Tom McKelvey
Midwest
Tom McKelvey is a licensed customs broker and an international trade compliance professional with over 30 years of successfully advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on import & export operations. He has extensive experience working with U.S. Customs, ITAR, EAR and FTR Disclosures, Government Investigations/Audits and proven ability to effectively eliminate or minimize company exposure to penalties and fines by utilizing strategic planning and effective controls.
In a previous role, Tom was the Trade Compliance Officer for Umicore USA Inc. Tom has worked in a trade compliance leadership role for Fortune 500 Companies such as KPMG, GE Aviation, Sony and HCL America Inc. He has also provided consultation to both start-up and established companies in defense, aerospace, electronics, chemical, consumer goods, automotive and many other sectors. This includes, but is not limited to, completion of challenging HTS classifications, formation of Foreign Trade Zones, development and implementation of comprehensive global trade programs, establishment of company-specific policies and procedures, training materials, and design and delivery of training programs. Recently Tom was a speaker at the American Conference Institute on 600 series items.

Jim Anzalone
East Coast
James Anzalone has advised companies of all sizes throughout the United States on the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Assets Control Regulations (FACR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) and Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
For over 20 years, James has developed comprehensive export compliance programs including commodity classification, license determination, trade party screening, development of corporate policies and procedures, and employee education programs. As an independent consultant, he has assisted companies with their Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) registration, technology control plans, brokering activities, commodity jurisdiction, encryption control reviews, government mandated internal audits and training, DDTC, BIS and OFAC licenses and a myriad of other import and export compliance challenges.
James was formerly the Vice President of Global Supply Chain at a global leader in the biometrics industry where he managed the end-to-end supply chain, including supply and demand planning, purchasing, warehousing, international logistics and trade compliance for operations in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to that, Mr. Anzalone has held the position of Trade Compliance Officer for the EMEA / LATAM division of a Fortune 100 corporation where he developed trade compliance programs for operations around the globe. James has also held similar positions in the telecommunications and transportation industry.
Mr. Anzalone earned his Master’s Degree in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics from the Pennsylvania State University. In 2010 he was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the South Florida District Export Council where he currently serves as Chairman. He is an active member of the Society for International Affairs and the International Compliance Professionals Association.
James is based in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Jackson Mao
Asia/Pacific
Jackson is a licensed customs broker with over 15 years experience, encompassing all aspects of global logistics operations, customs brokerage and trade compliance consulting.
Prior to DSG Global, Jackson was the Trade Compliance Manager at Logitech, Inc. where he was responsible for ensuring compliance with import and export compliance and operations between the US and Asian subsidiaries. Prior to that, he was a Trade and Customs Advisor at FedEx’s trade compliance consulting group, and reporting directly to the head of the practice.
Jackson has a Bachelor of Science from Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University. He is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), and experienced in GTM (Global Trade Management) software environments, such as Amber Road and Oracle. Jackson is fluent in Mandarin Chinese & Burmese.

Solène Furlanis

Solène was DSG Global’s first student intern in 2014-2015. After receiving her degree in Political Science with a focus on International Studies, Solène moved to Washington, DC to pursue International trade & investment at SelectUSA. Later, she joined the UK’s Department for International Trade in San Francisco where she worked with numerous Life Sciences companies.
Solène is now dedicated to a number of projects and collaborations that tie her experience in foreign investment, business and innovation with marketing. Some of the most recent companies she has provided support are in the health, tech, wellness, and retail space. She has lived in several countries including Italy, France, Brazil, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic where she learned a few languages and discovered her passion for design. With her knowledge and background, she is committed to support entrepreneurs, innovators, and SMEs grow.
